A Simple Recipe for Fun with Potsy
LeapFrog's Cook and Play Potsy will fire up your child's imagination with a talking and singing pot, an oversized spoon, and five plastic food pieces.

Whenever the broccoli, peas, tomato, cheese, or carrots are dropped into Potsy, or the spoon is stirred in his pot, he'll react with sounds, songs, or phrases that will delight your child. Playing with Potsy encourages the use of motor skills and pretend play, whether your child follows Potsy's directions or devises her own imaginative recipes.

Cleaning up after play is a breeze--put all the accessories in Potsy, close the lid, and put him away until the next cooking session. Potsy can be wiped down with a damp cloth for cleaning, but shouldn't be filled with, or submerged in, water.

"Cooking, Counting, Colors--Oh Yeah!"
Battery operated Potsy is playable in two modes. In the Cooking mode, stirring the spoon or adding food pieces to the pot triggers sound effects, facts about food and nutrition, and songs delivered in Potsy's colorfully infectious tone. The Learning mode teaches kids about colors and gives them an opportunity to practice counting.

Removing Potsy's lid during either mode teaches kids about opposites, such an on/off and open/closed. Potsy also encourages open-ended pretend play with interactive prompts.

OMG! I thought that this would be a fun toy, but was leery of it's "fun" quality... WRONG WAS I! This is awesome! My 10 month old even stirs the vegetables, put the lid on & off, etc. He loves this toy! It is great! And so educational in a way that is not the ABC's or the 123's... but in healthy eating! I love it! He loves it! We all love it! He will sit in the floor on the rug in front of the fridge while we cook just playing with it... Thanks LeapFrog for yet another great toy!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Daughter and Son love to cook with Potsy, July 27, 2010

Both my 18 month old son and my almost 4 year old daughter love pretend cooking and learning with Potsy. My younger son loves to put in the food and listen to the fun music and funny food comments. He puts the food in and takes it out again and again. The Potsy character is pretty funny. Not sure how it knows when my child is stirring vs. dropping in food pieces? Cool though. My 3 year old likes to use it and pretend to serve us food. As a parent it is cool to hear her learning colors, about nutrition, open /close and all the other stuff. It is built really solid too and all the food and stirring spoon fit into the pot for easy storage. I hate loosing pieces!! No need for a whole kitchen set and it is the perfect size to take with us on trips.

I bought this for my 20 month old because he loves playing with our pots and pans when we're cooking in the kitchen. Now he has his own pot, and he LOVES it. It's a clever toy and has no "sexual" context as another Amazon reviewer noted. Seriously?! Anyway, I highly recommend this toy. Hours and hours of fun and giggles:-)
